Following promotion within the Council of the previous post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably motivated and qualified Senior Technical Officer/ Environmental Health Officer to join our busy Housing Enforcement Team. This post will require the successful applicant to work with existing data sources, vulnerable tenants and a range of agencies in order to identify multi occupied properties and to ensure compliance with housing standards and HMO licence requirements. Applicants will have a sound knowledge of building construction, and will have an excellent understanding of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and its application. The successful candidate will enable housing and community improvements through proactive work with landlords, tenants and other stakeholders, and will progress cases to enforcement action as necessary. Other key skills required for the post include a high standard of computer literacy, as well as the ability to prioritise, plan and manage complex projects to a satisfactory conclusion. The post holder will be able to work remotely or from an agile work hub but will also need to perform site visits. This post will suit a Senior Technical Officer or newly qualified E.H.O. looking to extend their housing knowledge and experience.
