Infection Control & Prevention Manager
Our client in South London is recruiting for an Infection Control & Prevention Manager to lead a team providing proactive support and advice to the borough’s schools, early years providers and youth service providers in carrying out, updating, and putting into practice their infection control and prevention risk assessments.
Manage a team of up to three officers, coordinating and prioritising their time in an effective, proactive and professional manner.
Undertake visits of schools, early years providers, and other providers of services for children and young people, leading on giving up to date and expert advice on infection control and preventions, and track and trace requirements.
Lead on providing support to schools, early years providers, and other providers of services for children and young people in completing, updating, and implementing their risk assessments and action plans, in line with the most recent guidance and local situation.
Provide support quickly and appropriately follow guidance, including Track and Trace, so that infection and re-infection opportunities are minimised, and children and parents feel confident in the Council’s advice and response.
Lead on the provision of relevant training and an advice helpline for stakeholders, including to school staff and nursery staff, and when appropriate, for parents.
Effectively liaise and work in partnership with colleagues within Children’s Services, Public Health, and Environmental Health, to provide a full SSA advice and response unit as required.
In the case of a ‘lock-down’ in the area, leads on supporting relevant stakeholders by providing and producing up to date advice, appropriately sign-posting as required, and linking up with local welfare/food support providers and other support organisations to ensure any families needing food and other essentials can access this quickly and with the least number of handoffs.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of Corona Virus control and prevention guidance, including Track and Trace requirements and dynamics.
Knowledge of principles and requirements of safeguarding children & vulnerable adults.
Experience in managing and leading a team of staff delivering services to external stakeholders.
Experience working in partnership with senior officers, including providing advice and leading on projects.
