Environmental Health Officer

Our client in Wales is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join its Environmental Protection team.

Main purpose:

To investigate and carry out follow up procedures regarding complaints in respect of any aspect of the Environmental Protection Section, including air, noise, land, waste, statutory nuisance, water or any other matter.

Responsibilities:

Undertake programmed and routine inspections of premises in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and/or codes of practice, and in compliance with Council policies and procedures where appropriate, so as to ensure their compliance with relevant statutes.

To compose letters, notices and schedules of work as necessary in accordance with the Councils Enforcement Policy and to investigate offences and prepare statements and case files for prosecutions or other enforcement actions in accordance with PACE and to attend a Court of Law to give evidence when necessary.

To carry out monitoring and sampling in respect of air, water, soil or other matters as appropriate.

To undertake surveys in respect of air, noise and other relevant pollution matters.

To carry out duties outside normal working hours, where necessary for the purposes of noise and pollution investigations.
