Environmental Health Officer

An opportunity to step back from Covid related work and back in to solely food focused work. My client in Ashfield is looking for an experienced EHO to help them out with higher risk food premises inspections, for an initial 3 months.

About the Role:

The role will see you cover food hygiene inspections across all categories B-E. This will require you to undertake site visits and inspections of food premises, serve and enforce notices where necessary and provide advice and training for improving their standards. You will also be required to carry out reactive work, investigating hygiene complaints on an ad hoc basis.

The contract on offer is for an initial 3 months with the potential to be extended beyond this depending on the level of work. There is some scope for flexible working however due to the type of work, some district work will be required. The rates have been left open to negotiation but we could expect around £33-£37 an hour Umbrella.

About You:

An up to date knowledge of Food Standards and Food Safety Legislation is essential. You will also be required to have a qualification at degree level or equivalent professional qualification in Environmental Health, or in Food Safety and Food Standards. Either EHRB registration or a Higher Certificate in Food Control/Safety is also an essential as well as 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
