We are looking for Environmental Health Officers who want to help make a difference to licensable properties in the City. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team undertaking Property Licensing in the private rented sector.

Coventry has been awarded the UK City of Culture for 2021. With a rapidly expanding population, a buoyant and growing private rented sector; a key strategic priority for the Council is to keep residents safe and tackle poor housing conditions.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a busy high-profile environment and specifically we would like our Environmental Health Officers to have experience in dealing with the inspection and enforcement HMOs and HMO licensing.

As an Environmental Health Officer, you will understand the key requirements of the Housing Act 2004 and procedures for licensing and enforcing standards in HMOs. Attention to detail is key so having the ability to record and provide information with accuracy is a distinct advantage.

The successful applicant will possess excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise their work. You must be committed to a high standard of service delivery and have excellent communication skills.
