About this job
The role is responsible to improve the quality, safety and choice of residential accommodation in Barking and Dagenham through a range of professional and specialist interventions ensuring compliance through enforcement, compliance using codes of practice, guidance and relevant legislation.
About the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have the ability to take enforcement action to improve housing conditions across the private rented sector in the borough. You will have proven enforcement skills and will be able to investigate complaints, referrals and other enquiries to the service and determine enforcement action where necessary contributing to a robust service delivery. You will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding surrounding specialist knowledge in private sector housing work, all current knowledge on specific legislation relating to the job role, in order to provide accurate guidance that ensures a high standard of compliance within the Borough.
Special Requirements for this Post
Must have an Environmental Health Back ground and hold a current up to date Housing Health and Safety Rating system qualifications
