TECHNICAL OFFICER/ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (DOMESTIC/COMMERCIAL)

BUSINESS COMPLIANCE (FIXED TERM)

£30,451 - £39,880 p.a., plus benefits

East Cambridgeshire District is looking for two highly organised and enthusiastic Qualified Environmental Health Practitioners who have detailed knowledge of the law relating to Environmental Health and investigative techniques on a fixed term basis.

As part of the ongoing effort to contain Covid-19 and the recognition of the important role Environmental Health Officers play in assisting in delivering at a local level through; community engagement to build trust and participation, preventing infection, business compliance, contact tracing and deployment of capabilities including enforcement.

In this post you will be required to carry out work in a variety of settings on Covid-19 compliance and prevention. The Domestic role will include visiting HMO’s, other shared accommodation and in some cases, some business’s premises. The Commercial role will include, business premises, both food and Health and safety.

To apply for this role, you must possess a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent) and be EHRB registered or have or be working towards Chartered Status with the CIEH. Applicants without EHRB registration but able to demonstrate extensive, relevant experience in housing enforcement, will also be considered.

The starting salary for a qualified EHO is £34,728 (Scale 7).

Due to the nature of the job permanent access to a car and a full driver’s licence is essential.
