Salary £32,234 to £34,728 per annum (Grade H)

Full Time – 37 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner to work in our busy Public Health team.  The role will deliver the statutory Environmental Health and related functions of the Council through the inspection, investigation and resolution of issues that are the responsibility of the Public Health and Regulatory Service.

The focus of the role is to implement all the recognised statutory duties connected with Environmental Protection, Pollution Control, Statutory Nuisances, Pest Control, and Drainage. As well as being a statutory consultee for other related areas including Licensing and Planning, the role also involves proactive activities around air quality.

You will need to have detailed knowledge on environmental protection and statutory nuisance, as well as experience in enforcement and undertaking noise assessments.

You will have the opportunity to develop professionally and gain experience in a wide range of duties. Training will also be provided where necessary to ensure you maintain your competency and help you develop your professional role.

The post requires a fully qualified Environmental Health Practitioner/Officer, although those EHOs anticipating EHRB registration in the near future are also welcome to apply for the post. You should have knowledge of current legislation relating to environmental health and good communication skills together with the associated enthusiasm and commitment to fulfil the requirements of the post applied for.
