One fixed term post (one year contract) Environmental Health Officer/Technical Officer: Grade 8: £30,451 to £34,729 per year/Grade 5 to 7: £20,904 to £30,451 per year.

Two fixed term posts (two year contract) Food & Safety Practitioner/Environmental Health Officer: Grade 6 to 8: £23,080 to £34,729 per year/ Grade 8: £30,451 to £34,729 per year.

 We are excited to be able to offer three new posts within the busy Environmental Health and Housing Team of North Lincolnshire Council. In addition we are also able to offer two new posts within the Food & Safety Team.

These two posts are within the Environmental Health and Housing Team of Operations and will assist in the investigation and delivery of enforcement work including housing standards within the private rented sector, investigation of statutory nuisances, anti-social behaviour and enviro crime.

Applications are welcomed from newly qualified Environmental Health Officers. Housing experience and knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System would be an advantage.

Following COVID 19, there has been an increased demand on the Food & Safety Team. We therefore are able to offer two Environmental Health Officers or Food & Safety Practitioners post, on a two year fixed term contract, to assist with this additional workload. Whilst initially we are ideally looking for someone with both Food and Health & Safety, qualifications and experience. We would also welcome applications from people with qualifications and experience in only one of these areas.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to work with sensitivity, self-confidence, assertiveness, tact and diplomacy to resolve problems effectively in potentially confrontational situations.

The post also requires knowledge of the law, codes, policies and procedures governing investigations and evidence gathering and court procedures. An ability to attend court and give evidence will be an essential part of the role.

It is essential that applicants hold a full driving licence and are able to provide a car or other means of transport in order to undertake this role.
