Consultant in Public Health - COVID-19 Lead

Our client is a shared service local authority covering 2 Boroughs in West / South West London. They have a key strategic appointment to make within their Public Health team and are looking to appoint on an interim basis. The role will report directly to the Director of Public Health and have 2 direct reports.

Ultimately you will serve to provide public health leadership for their response to COVID-19, advising and directing the implementation of their Outbreak Control Plans. You will play akey co-ordination role with various Public Health Managers and other departments involved with responding to COVID-19.

At an early stage you will help draft an outline plan for your own role to include agreeing any key objectives and timeframes. You will develop strategies and policy for service development and input on evaluation and quality assurance governance in specific areas. As required you will deal with any adjustments to action plans in line with changing needs and changing geographical boundaries and you will ensure efficient communication channels are in place.

You will be expected to provide expert advisory capacity on public health knowledge, standards and practice across the spectrum of public health at Board or equivalent level. On occasion you may be required to deputise for the Director of Public Health.

The role will pay £500/day and, given current circumstances, has potential to roll on for a prolonged period. Our client is looking for a quick start so immediate availability would be looked upon favourably.
