Joining a team of experienced officers, the role would also be ideal for a newly degree qualified EHP who is in the process of becoming EHRB registered, or has embarked on the Chartered Practitioner Programme.  The role would also be ideal for specialist Environmental Science or Environmental Quality graduates looking for a regulatory role and where you can make a real difference to public health and environmental standards.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of dealing with service requests and complaints, who can work independently and as part of an effective team.

You must have current knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice and have effective negotiating, influencing, diplomacy and advocacy skills.  Working within our multi-disciplined Environmental Health service you will also contribute to the wider public health work of the service as appropriate to ensure a resilient and flexible approach to service delivery.

The ideal applicant will be innovative and enthusiastic having a “can do” approach to work and a focus on customer satisfaction and outcomes. They will be able to organise and prioritise their own workload to ensure targets are met.

It is also necessary to have excellent communication and IT skills in order to deal with a wide range of customers, partners and agencies and be able to deal with conflict, challenging and difficult situations whilst working effectively to find solutions.

It is preferable that the successful candidate possess a full driving licence and has the use of a car.
