£28,785 - £38,813 per annum

Based: Eastbourne and Lewes

As part of the Councils response to the Covid19 pandemic we are recruiting two posts for 18 month contracts to work in our specialist services team. The Councils have been at the forefront of the response and in its capacity as Primary Authority to Eastbourne Hospitality Association have assisted in the launch of one of the first ‘Covid Ready’ quality assurance schemes in the country.

These posts are a shared role between Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District Councils and as a member of the Specialist Advisory Team; you will be providing customer focused specialist advice on a range of coronavirus, food safety and health and safety issues.

These roles entail providing advice and assistance to businesses in Covid19 prevention. You would be supporting them in designing and ongoing implementation of their mitigation measures, to work in close liaison with the Environmental Health & Public Health teams, and to act as 'extra capacity' in any outbreak response.

A solid background in the core disciplines of environmental health is essential and direct experience of outbreak control and ID work desirable. In order to be considered it is absolutely essential that you have experience completing Food Hygiene inspections in all risk premises within the last 2 years.

You will have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health, have experience in inspecting a wide range of premises, preferably, including high risk, be well organised, flexible and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
