A client in South London presents a fantastic opportunity to be part of a public health team that is truly embedded across all council departments and serving over half a million residents.

 

They are recruiting for a Consultant in Public Health role to support both councils to protect residents from COVID-19 through implementing the local outbreak control plans.

 

As well as strong skills and experience in leading on complex Public Health issues, they are looking for a positive attitude and the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands.  The pay will be around £70 Per Hour.

 

You will be able to work flexibly and autonomously.  You will be politically astute and enable elected members to maximise their positive impact on health and wellbeing.  You will be a clear communicator and able to take people with you to effect change.  You will embrace diversity and be able to work and influence people from all walks of life.

 

You will lead on all COVID-19 related work. This will include responsibility for all areas of the outbreak control plans and supporting the Director of Public Health with the COVID-19 effort.  The post will provide line management support to a small team of staff leading on our COVID-19 effort, and link with the wider Public Health team as needed.

 

You will report to the Director of Public Health. The Public Health Division sits within the Directorate of Adult Social Care and Public Health. 

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

- Support the Director of Public Health in their role reporting to and supporting the work of Local Engagement Boards, Health Protection Board (Public Health Board), and Covid GOLD.

 

- Lead on Public Health activity relating to COVID-19 and the thematic areas in the outbreak control plans.

 

- Conduct needs assessments, action planning, commissioning and evaluation to tackle COVID-19 related public health issues.
