The Job
The successful applicant will join a small, professional and hardworking team who support each other in delivering the team’s environmental protection functions to protect the health and well-being of the public, animals and environment.
The role covers extensive and varied subject matter and offers the chance for the successful candidate to utilise their wide range of skills and experience, to manage their own workload, as well as that of a technician. They will also have the opportunity to develop noise, animal welfare, PPC and fly tipping specialisms.

Whilst the post holder will primarily be enforcing legislation relevant to Environmental Protection, there will be a requirement on occasion to carry out emergency planning and other Environmental Health functions commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
Applicants must have a qualification in Environmental Health and be EHRB registered and hold a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or similar professional body is essential.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated with a “can do” approach. Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with individuals and teams to generate ideas, solve problems, produce solutions and improve inter-disciplinary understanding and cooperation to achieve desired goals.
They will also have the ability to use their initiative, progress work in a timely manner and demonstrate high standards of professional practice and behaviour to promote the reputation of the team and the profession.
