Food Safety Officer

About the Role:

My client in Nottinghamshire is currently on the look out for a either a qualified EHO or a Technical Officer, holding the Higher Certificate in Food Premise Inspection, to help cover a vacant post left by a recently retired staff member. The role would be for an initial 4 month period, at which point the post will be reviewed and potentially extended dependent on work load.

Being part of the Public Protection Team you will cover a wide range of duties including providing advice and guidance on food safety, food hygiene inspections, workplace safety, investigating food/hygiene complaints, infectious disease notifications, reported accidents, sampling special projects, promotional and training activities. In the current climate you may also be involved with COVID19 response work. The role is predominantly home based, however you will occasionally be required on district for planned site inspections. The client is happy for you to work these around your own schedule.
