Environmental Health Technical Officer / Environmental Health Officer - Private Sector Housing

£27,905 - £37,849 pa

37 hpw. Fixed term for 2 years.

Based in Lowestoft.

Are you looking for a new challenge? Would you like to pursue that challenge on the beautiful east coast of England?

We want to offer this opportunity to a motivated and enthusiastic professional, who will join our team to help us deliver improvements in the Lowestoft Heritage Action Zones (HAZ).

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be engaged in improving housing conditions in an area of significant deprivation. Supported by a renovation grant policy and a robust enforcement protocol, you will be able to tackle some of the health inequalities and poor housing conditions in this area.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Practitioner or Environmental Health Technical Officer to join our team of motivated and enthusiastic officers.

Whilst this role will be primarily focussed in the HAZ, there will be opportunities to support the team in other areas of work and vice versa. You will need to have experience of inspecting residential accommodation and delivering improvements, and be comfortable with preparing schedules of dilapidation and works.

You will have extensive experience in private sector housing, be a self-starter with excellent working knowledge of housing legislation and have a suitable qualification in a housing or environmental health related subject. A full UK driving licence is also essential.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we will give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There is also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand-new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

For an informal discussion regarding this post, please contact Teresa Howarth on (01394) 444206 or Victoria Cotterill on (01502) 523160.
