Environmental Health Officer
GRADE: 7 plus Essential User Car Allowance
SALARY: £29,636 - £32,878 per annum
TERMS: 37 hours / Permanent
South Ribble Council has recently declared a climate emergency and a task group is being formed to look at the impact on the wider environment from the activities of both the Council and the wider borough, with a view to reducing the impact across all sectors with a target for the borough to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Therefore, we are seeking a motivated and committed Environmental Health Officer, to primarily assist with the delivery of the Air Quality Action Plan and development of the Climate Emergency Project, together with some planning work.
You will be fundamental in supporting this new challenging and exciting programme and offers a chance to make a real impact in the borough. Once fully embedded it is envisaged that the role will also undertake some of the more historical Environmental Health functions within the multidiscipline team.
You must have a degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, be EHORB registered and possess a full driving license.
Knowledge of legislation, policy and practice on air quality, transport, carbon reduction in relation to the SME (or equivalent) sector would be an advantage.
