About the job
Do you have experience of working on Environmental Protection – Noise related duties within a Local Authority or similar environment along with the ability to undertake detailed, complex investigations? If yes, then we want to hear from you.
We have an opportunity where your expertise will help you to provide professional and technical advice to other council services and local stakeholders. You will also undertake investigations aimed at securing compliance with the provisions of environmental protection and pollution control legislation.
You’ll be the lead officer on noise matters, and the single point of contact for central government liaison.
In this vital role, you’ll implement and deliver noise policy, strategy and enforcement. You’ll also contribute to corporate-wide projects aimed at securing improvements in noise.
About you
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
Our ideal candidate must have the ability to analyse data requiring complex manipulation and interpretation. Recommend action on complex matters such as noise or industrial pollution, air quality and contaminated land to ensure the environment is protected in accordance with the provisions of relevant legislation.
We need someone that has in-depth experience of noise related duties within Local Authority or similar working environment. You will have experience of providing expert advice on planning applications, working collaboratively with strategic transport, strategic planning, environmental health and public health colleagues in the development and delivery of work plans to address noise issues.
We do ask that you hold Institute of Acoustics: Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control and Certificate of Environmental Noise measurement and/or relevant qualification or relevant verifiable experience.
