We are a dynamic Council, seeking to recruit for two positions, from appropriately qualified, experienced and enthusiastic persons to join our busy Commercial Regulation service. We would also welcome applications from recently qualified persons, from CIEH accredited degree courses, for the Technical Officer position.

Technical Officer/Environmental Health Officer (Commercial Regulation) – Full-time (37 hours per week)

Salary Range - £26,999 - £35,510 per annum

Working within the Council’s Commercial Regulation team you will primarily be responsible for undertaking food hygiene/safety visits/inspections. The role also includes the investigation of complaints, infectious diseases, accidents, health and safety complaints and registration visits in relation to special treatments (e.g. body piercing and tattooing). There will also be an opportunity to get involved in other areas of commercial work, such as planning and licensing consultations. This is an exciting and varied role for a fully qualified EHO wishing to broaden their experience, or a person with the Higher Certificate in Food Control

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be dependent on whether or not he/she is registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) as an Environmental Health Practitioner/officer, or has attained the EHRB’s Higher Certificate in Food Control and the level of relevant experience in environmental health work.

Technical Officer (Commercial Regulation) – Full-time (37 hours per week)

Salary Range - £26,999 - £28,785 per annum

Working within the Council’s Commercial Regulation team you will primarily be responsible for environmental protection issues such as noise nuisances from both domestic and commercial properties and other statutory nuisances from commercial properties only; planning and licensing consultations. You will also be expected to assist with contaminated land enquiries, air quality and private water supplies work. This is an exciting and varied role for newly qualified persons from a CIEH accredited degree course, wishing to broaden their experience, or those with a relevant environmental protection background.
