About us
Reading Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Health Officer/Senior within the Food and Safety Section for a one year maternity cover post beginning in January 2020.
About the role
This role is to enforce food safety, food standards and health and safety legislation as well as work with our Primary Authority Partnerships.
You will also contribute to our many initiatives including teaching the RSPH (level 2) award in Food Safety in Catering.
About you
- You must possess a degree/diploma from an Environmental Health course accredited by the CIEH as well as the CIEH Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) certificate or be on the path to obtaining an EHRB certificate shortly.
- Recent experience of enforcing relevant legislation for a local authority.
We welcome applications from newly qualified EHOs who can embark on our structured career progression pathway. If you are not yet registered with EHRB you can join us as a Technical Officer which carries a salary of £24,799 - £33,799.
