Salary: £33,920 - £41,735 per annum

37 Hours per Week

Thurrock Council offers the opportunity for two enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced officers to join its Residents Services department. Consideration will also be given to any newly qualified applicants or those who are completing their practical training

Thurrock is a mixed urban/rural/industrial authority with the potential to offer an interesting and varied workload.

You should be an excellent communicator, with the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload, have good computer skills and be able to work as part of a team.

You must be committed to achieving and maintaining high standards of work within the Council.  You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills and may be requested to deliver group training/presentations.

You must have successfully completed the Environmental Health Degree or Diploma, be EHRB registered and have a minimum two years’ experience in food enforcement.  A relevant postgraduate qualification would be an advantage, as would experience in imported food work.

The post includes food hygiene, food standards, infectious disease control and imported food work streams.
