£26,999 - £31,371 per annum

Mansfield District Council has an exciting opportunity available for a qualified Environmental Health Officer (Housing) to join our busy team based in Mansfield. You will join on a full time, permanent basis and in return, as an Environmental Health Officer (Housing) you will receive a competitive salary of £26,999 – £31,371 per annum, plus casual car user allowance and market supplement of up to £3,417.

The historic market town of Mansfield is Nottinghamshire’s second biggest settlement. Close to the heart of Sherwood Forest, there is easy access to Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and the Peak District along with excellent links to both the M1 and A1 highway networks.

The Environmental Health Officer (Housing) role:

We are seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer to work within the Private Sector Housing service. Applications from recently qualified Environmental Health Officers will also be considered.

You will contribute to the improvement of private sector housing conditions in our district and, where appropriate, take enforcement action and provide housing advice to private sector tenants and landlords.

You will have an interesting and varied workload and be responsible for carrying out HHSRS inspections in both single and multi-occupancy dwellings and deal with HMO licence applications. You will also be a key player in delivering housing advice to landlords and tenants and contribute to landlord forums and our proactive enforcement programme.

Our ideal Environmental Health Officer (Housing):

You will have a sound knowledge of housing law and private sector housing issues and will be a confident and self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills. You will also be part of a small supportive team with both flexible and agile working options to enhance your work/life balance.

Successful post holder will be required to undergo clearance for an enhanced DBS check.
