Food Safety Officer

An exciting new role has just opened up with one of my clients based in Derbyshire. They are looking for an Environmental Health Officer, to assist their Food Safety team for an initial 6 month period.

About the Role:

My Client is currently looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join their busy Food Safety team. Main responsibilities include:

• Food hygiene inspections across all categories A-E and all associated enforcement
• Investigate hygiene complaints
• Investigation of food poisoning outbreaks
• Providing training to improve food hygiene levels
•  

The contract is for 37 hours and is being offered is for an initial 6 months, with the potential to be extended for another 6 beyond this depending on the level of work. There may be some scope for flexible working but an office presence will be required in the first instance. The rates have been left open to negotiation but we could expect around £30-£35 an hour Umbrella.

About You:

An up to date knowledge of Food Standards and Food Safety Legislation is essential. You will also be required to have a qualification at degree level or equivalent professional qualification in Environmental Health, or in Food Safety and Food Standards. The client has specified that they are looking for a registered Environmental Health Officer, therefore an EHRB registration certificate will be required.
