Food Safety Officer

Our client is a local authority based in  South East London. They are currently recruiting, for a Food Safety Officer to undertake duties of inspection, investigation and enforcement relating to the relevant legislation, codes of practice, service plans and Council policy. 

This is for an initial 6 months contract, inside IR35 Paid on an hourly rate basis.

·        Investigate complaints and cases / outbreaks of infectious disease accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
·        Undertake hazard spotting while undertaking food inspections     
·        To give advice and assistance to members of the public, trade and commerce in matters related to food safety and infectious disease control.
·        To undertake cross Divisional work as required.
 
Inspecting officers must hold one of the baseline qualifications, and have associated registration. The base line qualifications are Higher Certificate in Food Control or certificate of registration or Diploma issued by Environmental Health Registration Board.

The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and have at least 10 hours of Food Core CPD as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.
 A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences.
