Enforcement Officer - Commercial Services

Location: Macclesfield (Ref 416)

Grade 8, 37 hours / week, 52 weeks / year

Salary £26,999 to £31,371

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious person to work within our Commercial Services Team.

The Team is responsible for food safety, health & safety, private water supplies, and mobile homes legislation, and is based across two locations within the Borough; Crewe and Macclesfield.

We have a vacancy for a qualified Environmental Health Officer with a Certificate of Registration issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board, who can complement the ideas and direction of the Team and contribute to the Council's strategic objectives.

As an Enforcement Officer, based in Macclesfield, you will be responsible for a varied caseload across the disciplines covered by the Commercial Services Team. This will include food premises inspections (and approved premises), responding to service requests and the investigation of food poisoning and outbreak notifications. Your role will include the provision of support and advice to individuals and the local business community, and where necessary to take appropriate enforcement action. In addition, you will be required to take part in delivering our ChESS (Cheshire East School Support) service, carrying out in depth audits of school premises.

Working as part of a busy team you will need to have a flexible approach to service delivery to meet your personal objectives and the wider aims of the team. You will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management and enjoy being part of a vibrant team.
