Our client in East Midlands is seeking an Environmental Protection Officer to join its team on an initial short term contract.

 

Main purpose

 

-Investigation of statutory nuisance complaints and other requests for service, including the preparation of letters, notices and reports as necessary.

 

-Consultee for Planning and Licensing Applications with regard to environmental protection matters, assessing complex reports, providing expert opinion, preparing letters & reports and commenting as appropriate.

 

-Inspection of premises within the Borough for compliance with PPC Permits, preparing letters, notices and reports as required.

 

-Air Quality technical lead, assessing complex reports, providing expert opinion and preparing letters & reports.

 

-Contaminated Land technical lead, assessing complex reports, providing expert opinion, preparing letters & reports and carrying out site investigations.

 

-Involvement with public health matters, which may include from time to time; Welfare Burials, Drainage, Filthy & Verminous, Empty Properties and Section 215 amenity cases.

 

Knowledge/Experience

  1. Degree in a relevant subject Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body Educated to A Level standard/NVQ 3 in a relevant subject (or equivalent demonstrable experience) Experience using IDOX Uniform, GIS, and document management systems.
