Part Time Environmental Health Officer – (Environmental Protection)

18.5 hours per week

Grade 8. £34,788 – 37,849 (pro rata)

Uttlesford is a thriving predominantly rural District in north-west Essex, 16 miles south of Cambridge. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and qualified part time Environmental Health Officer with a good working knowledge of acoustics/contaminated land and/or private sector housing.

The successful candidate will be based within the Environmental Health (Protection) Service, a small mutli-disciplinary team involved in a wide variety of service areas include statutory nuisances, private sector housing, DFG and housing repair grants, pollution control, air quality and noise monitoring, private water supplies, contaminated land, licensing, planning consultations and animal welfare. Additional expertise in any of these areas would be to a candidate’s advantage.

You will need to be a team player, with excellent skills in, communication, prioritising and planning. The post holder will also need to be self-motivated, take responsibility for a varied caseload and be committed to deliver exceptional customer service.
