CONTRACT:  Full time (37 hours per week)

DESCRIPTION

This is an outstanding opportunity to work across two modern, ambitious organisations striving to be the best in class when it comes to local government service.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and diligent individual to join our busy and innovative Private Sector Housing Team. This exciting role is a shared role with East Hampshire District Council, and you would be responsible for leading the team who deliver disabled facilities grants and other financial assistance packages, ensuring appropriate adaptations to houses are provided to allow residents to live independently and safely in their own homes.

You will be required to be able to work across both local authority areas.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a great team player.  A background in Environmental Health or Building & Construction is preferable. You will need a full UK driving license.

Environmental Health strives to be an exemplar provider of public services that protects and enhances neighbourhoods through mediation, regulation and enforcement.

The person specification shows the special knowledge and experience for the job that you will be expected to demonstrate.

For an informal discussion, please contact Sam Ings, Private Sector Housing Manager on 01730 234334 or Cheryl Azulay, Senior Environmental Health Technician on 02392 446673.

For an application pack please visit our website: www.havant.gov.uk/jobs-and-careers or telephone (023) 9244 6543. No CVs or agencies please.  Closing date for receipt of applications is midnight on 20th September 2019.  Interviews are expected to be held week commencing 7th October 2019.

Prior consideration will be given to those on the redeployment register or at risk of redundancy at East Hampshire District Council and Havant Borough Council.
