Food Safety / Health & Safety Auditor

Based in the spa town of Malvern and established since 2007, Saeker Consulting Ltd (formerly Leisuresafe Ltd) is a provider of health and safety, food safety and fire safety consultancy support services and compliance software to clients throughout the UK. Our client base includes hotel groups, holiday parks, high street restaurant chains, estates and other businesses within the leisure and hospitality sector. We have a reputation for providing high quality technical support, cutting-edge software and great customer service.

Continued growth of the business has provided an opportunity for an auditor to join our established team.

The role:

Supported by our team of consultants, the main duties are as follows:

  • Carrying out detailed high-quality food safety and health and safety audits across our client portfolio, throughout the UK;
  • Ensuring that audits are completed in accordance with quality standards and client specific protocols;
  • Providing competent advice and guidance on food safety and health and safety matters to clients via our helpline and in person as required;
  • Supporting clients with the use of our compliance software and contributing to the development of new features;
  • Contributing towards the development of client policies and guidance etc.

The role is field based with regular visits to client premises involving overnight stays.

The person:

We are looking for someone with the following personal qualities:

  • A keen eye for detail and an enquiring mind;
  • Someone who enjoys a varied workload and who is a hard-working, self-motivated, honest and trustworthy;
  • Someone with excellent communication, report writing and time management abilities;
  • Someone who can manage their own diary and be flexible in order to respond to clients’ needs, sometimes at short notice; and
  • Someone who wants to develop their career and progress towards a consultant role.

Skills and qualifications:

The following skills are considered essential to the role:

  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Excellent report, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Good keyboard skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to competently adapt to the use of our software;
  • An excellent level of up to date knowledge of food safety and health & safety legislation.
  • A full driving licence.

In addition to a good general level of general education the consultant will be:

  • An EHRB registered environmental health practitioner; or
  • A holder of a Level 4 food safety qualification and Grad IOSH working towards CMIOSH status.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is currently undertaking audits of hotels, holiday parks, restaurants and other leisure and hospitality premises.

The Salary & Benefits Package:

The salary range begins at £28,000.00 but the starting salary will be dependent on qualifications, skills, experience and personal qualities. The right candidate can expect a competitive salary and benefits package including a company car.
