Environmental Health Officer / Private Sector Housing Officer

Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunity in North West England for an Environmental Health Officer / Private Sector Housing Officer to carry out inspections, re-inspections and surveys relative to private sector housing to start asap.

You will be required to prepare and serve Statutory Notices and take enforcement action in line with the Councils strategy and on a regular basis you will be required to report and/or advise where statutory action is not appropriate and to initiate prosecutions for failure to comply with statutory instruments.

To apply for this role you must have HHSRS certification and ideally have carried out recently, HHSRS assessments, inspections & enforcement using the Housing Act 2004 HMO Licensing inspections, Private Sewer/Drains complaints, investigations & enforcement Preparation of reports, notices, evidence gathering, interviewing Preparation of reports, witness statements and prosecution files.

You will need to be able to confidently and competently manage a busy case load and make informed decisions on action to be taken; good communication skills are essential.

The suitable person would be an experienced and competent Officer specialising in housing, who can drive, and access to own car.

The role will be offered for a minimum of 3 months and the rate on offer is negotiable.
