Private Sector Housing Manager

  • Working Pattern: Full Time
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Salary: £48,419 - £53,128
  • DBS Check: Yes
  • Location: Guildhall, Northampton

In Northampton, we have completely transformed the way in which we tackle criminal, rogue and irresponsible landlords who knowingly rent out accommodation that is unlicensed, substandard or unsafe.

Our intelligence-led, risk-based, multi-agency approach to housing enforcement (and our development of our EHOs as trained investigators) is making a real difference and we have expanded our Housing Enforcement Team to make full use of our powers under the Housing and Planning Act 2016.

We are now looking to appoint an exceptional team player who has the skills, qualities and experience needed to lead, inspire, direct and motivate a large multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for HMO licensing, housing enforcement, a tenancy relations service and the delivery of a large and very effective Disabled Facilities Grants programme.

To meet the requirements of this key role, you will be professionally qualified, have an in-depth knowledge of private sector housing legislation and its practical application, and you will have a proud track record of managing performance, improving housing services and promoting effective multi agency working.

Outcome focused and tenacious, you will have excellent communication skills and you will be a skilled and effective negotiator and problem solver. You will also be able to think and act strategically and work well under pressure.

If you are ambitious, seeking a fresh challenge and want to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, we would be delighted to hear from you.
