Temporary Environmental Health Officer
Salary between £30,399 and £36,399 per annum
Initial 6 months contract for maternity cover
Based at King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn
Think of West Norfolk and the cliffs of Hunstanton, the architecture of King’s Lynn, and the regal heritage of Sandringham come to mind. But alongside these well-known and well-loved attributes, there is a plethora of food premises from multi-national industries to local shell fishing businesses, as well as an active port, which make West Norfolk such a special place to work.
You will carry out detailed investigation and audits of mainly ‘high risk’ food and health and safety businesses and carry out investigations into food complaints and referrals and other food safety matters. You will also investigate Health and Safety complaints and accidents and respond to Health and Safety service requests, and carry out duties as prescribed under the International Health Regulations 2005 as part of the Port Health Authority function.
Qualified to environmental health degree (or equivalent) standard, you have a professional membership of CIEH (or other relevant body) and update knowledge of current food and health and safety legislation. You will be able to communicate effectively with a good understanding of enforcement procedures. You must have a full driving licence to be able to travel around the Borough.
