Environmental Protection Officer

Our client in Essex is looking for an enthusiastic, committed and self-motivated Environmental Protection Officer to join its team on an initial 3 months.

Our client requires someone who is extremely proficient in statutory nuisance, pollution complaints, and reactive noise work (smoke, dust, drainage and odour), as well as planning and licensing applications.

As a member of the team you will be asked to initiate enforcement action, where necessary, relating to infringements of relevant legislation (Environmental Protection Act 1990). You will need to deal with reactive complaints work and will vary between specialities including planning/licensing consultations and noise and nuisance investigations.

Experience

•Investigating statutory nuisance, e.g. licensing, & public health

•Working experience of practices and methodologies

•Experience in the use of monitoring equipment

•Working experience in related environmental protection issues e.g. environmental permitting regulations/ noise control

Qualifications

Degree in a relevant subject

Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body

Educated to A Level standard/NVQ 3 in a relevant subject (or equivalent demonstrable experience)

N.B Successful candidate will be able to operate via their own Ltd co.
