My client is a Local Authority based in the West Midlands is looking for an Animal Health Professional Officer to join their Regulatory Services Team within Public Health
You will support the delivery of the transformation programme in line with the Council’s vision, values and strategic objectives.
The post will deliver a range of animal health and feed hygiene functions with a focus on animal health and welfare, disease control, feed safety and protecting the food chain
The post is temporary for up to 37 hours per week, Normal office hours are 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday. Occasional evening/weekend work may be required, The post is subject to the Council's Flexible Working Hours Scheme.
· Educated to diploma/degree level or equivalent or other professional qualifications which satisfy minimum requirements necessary to undertake statutory or specialist functions, or other relevant training or experience which gives an equivalent level of competence across a wide range of Regulatory Services functional areas
· High level of professional knowledge and practical enforcement and regulatory expertise in a number of core Regulatory Services functional areas (Animal Health and Welfare, Disease Control and Feed Safety)
·Successful delivery of operational project plans, framework agreements and performance targets in a number of functional areas
· Thorough awareness and understanding of current legislation, contemporary issues and best practice in relation to a minimum of two core areas of Regulatory Services functions
· Extensive knowledge and experience of a wide range of enforcement techniques and regulatory sanctions
· Experience of supporting and supervising/directing other staff on functional service delivery issues in at least one core Business Support and Regulatory Services functional area
· Evidence of continuing professional development.
