We are looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Team Leader to lead and develop the Residential service, building on its established successes.

About the role
As Residential Team Leader you will lead your teams to successfully deliver a range of outcomes within the private housing sector.

The role covers private sector housing and renewal being responsible for investigating and dealing effectively with nuisance complaints, including noise, housing standards, HMO licensing and public health and the management of the shared Home Improvement Agency who managing the housing grants programme and providing advice and support.

The Team Leader role is supported by 2 Lead Officers enabling the role to have a strategic focus on service improvement, commercialisation, collaborative working and implementing innovative ways to deliver the best results for our residents.

The role spans both boroughs and is an opportunity to make a real impact in South West London by driving up housing standards, maximising independence and improving the quality of life for residents.

About you
The Shared Service is a professional service requiring technical knowledge and expertise. We are seeking someone with wide experience within the private housing sector, and the passion to deliver high quality effective services to our residents while exploring innovative solutions in challenging climates.

An experienced manager you will be organised, diligent and flexible, with good communication skills and able to work on your own initiative. You will be financially astute with experience of monitoring both capital and revenue budgets.
   
The Shared Service works across two boroughs with offices based in the attractive Kingston town centre and the leafy suburb of Carshalton and we offer agile and flexible working.

We are looking for a passionate, committed and enthusiastic professional to join us as we continue to develop and shape the service.

About the role

As an Environmental Protection Officer you will be joining a hard working dedicated team that is committed to improving food hygiene and standards across the Shared Environment Service.

The successful applicant will need problem solving skills stamina and energy to undertake Commercial Environmental Health work comprising a monthly target of food hygiene; food standards and infectious disease inspections and will handle service requests complaints investigations and provide advice to businesses and consumers. Knowledge and experience of health and safety enforcement work would also be an advantage.

About you

You will be a qualified or newly qualified Environmental Health Officer EHORB registered with the knowledge and recent experience to demonstrate your ability to carry out official food controls and enforce food law in all categories of food premises.

You will have knowledge and experience of the EU Regulations and official controls for feed and food law as well as an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 PACE and RIPA amongst other legislation.

You will be competent and professional with good communication skills and able to work on your own initiative. You will be accurate adaptable and be organised, with an eye for detail and be comfortable working under pressure.

The Shared Service does not yet operate from one location and you will be expected to work in either borough occasionally as required; you would however be primarily located in Kingston.

As an Environmental Protection Officer, you may also be asked to assist and support other regulatory teams across the Service. Whilst use of a car is not essential, the availability of a car for casual work use would be desirable.
