Situated on the North East Wales border, Wrexham has a vibrant centre and is surrounded by rural villages. The post is based within the Public Protection service in the Environmental Health and Housing Standards team comprising housing standards (private sector housing), environmental protection (pollution control, air quality, statutory nuisances etc). The Council is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Environmental Health Officer with practical experience of Housing Standards visits and inspections work as this will be the main area of work. Knowledge on serving notices, arranging for works to be carried out in default and preparing case files for prosecution is essential.

The post is generic so other public health work may need to be undertaken on occasions to meet service demands.

As agile working is part of the service, there is flexibility in the way work is carried out (flexible working, working from a variety of locations, home working, mobile working etc). 

The successful applicant will hold a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health or a Diploma in Environmental Health or recognised equivalent, including EHORB Registration. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
