Environmental Health Officer/Food Safety Officer

SALARY £25,260 - £41,772 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
 

The Council’s vision is for North Hertfordshire to be a vibrant place to live, work and prosper. The Environmental Health Service plays an important part in delivering this vision and protecting the quality of life of our residents.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our Commercial Team. The duties of the post include the inspection of food premises, and the investigation of complaints about food and food outlets. In addition the post holder will be required to undertake health and safety inspections, to carry out the investigation of workplace accidents and complaints, and other public health related duties such as assessment of private water supplies. We also have public safety responsibilities for a number of major events in the district, including festivals at Knebworth Park.

You must have a recognised qualification in Environmental Health or the Higher Certificate in Food Control and be registered with EHRB or be in the final year of study for a recognised qualification in Environmental Health and be committed to achieving EHRB registration within six months of appointment. You will have relevant knowledge and experience, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm for and commitment to making a difference in North Hertfordshire.
