Salary range £33,291 - £39,774 plus a £5k market supplement which is annually reviewed and paid monthly.

A recent restructure of the Food and Safety team at Croydon Council means we are looking to recruit talented and ambitious people to create a high performing team to help ensure that all commercial businesses and public events meet the highest possible standards. As an Environmental Health Practitioner you can become involved in project work, reactive and proactive inspection.

Dependent on your skills and experience the successful candidates will be required to carry out a wide range of duties including risk based food hygiene and food standard inspections, public safety inspections at Selhurst Park football stadium, food hygiene or health and safety checks at public events held in both parks and on highways, respond to licensing applications as the responsible authority, as well as reactive investigations in relation to hygiene, infectious diseases and accidents.

As a minimum you must have an appropriate Level 3 Health and Safety qualification and/or registration with EHRB. Applicants with higher levels of qualification and the EHRB Certificate of Registration or equivalent will be considered for the higher salary ranges.   

Applications will be considered from applicants who are able to obtain EHRB registration with 4 months of starting the role. The role includes career progression throughout the grades.

You will hold a full driving licence and be able to provide you own car. You will be required to work some evenings, weekends and on a flexible basis.
