My client, a Local Authority in the North East, are looking for a Food Officer to undertake 180 Category D food premise inspections under the FSA Food Law Code of Practice to start ASAP for a long term contract (Until end 2019/early 2020)
This is a per inspection project, inside ir35, AND the work will be paid on an hourly rate of £35 per hour. The inspecting officer will be expected to leave a carbon copy report on site and produce letters where necessary. The council would require the officer to be in the office 1-2 days per week, or bi weekly due to staff shortages. on occasion to deal with reactive complaints as part of the role.
Inspecting officers must hold one of the baseline qualifications, and have associated registration. The base line qualifications are Higher Certificate in Food Control or certificate of registration or Diploma issued by Environmental Health Registration Board.
The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and have at least 10 hours of Food Core CPD as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.
A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences.
