Salary up to £40,760 pa + car allowance of up to £1239 pa
Mid Sussex is an ambitious authority with one of the most significant programmes of growth in the South East. To help us to deliver high quality Environmental Health services, we are looking for a pro-active and enthusiastic Senior Environmental Health Officer to work in our Licensing, Food and Safety Team.
This is a unique position in Environmental Health, as you will spend on average half of your time managing corporate safety at the Council, liaising with different teams to investigate incidents, organising training and developing policies. Along with your work in corporate safety, you will enforce food safety, commercial health and safety, and investigate outbreaks of infectious disease.
The team prides themselves on working together to deliver our programmed food hygiene inspections and investigate complaints and accidents thoroughly, taking appropriate enforcement action when required. We are looking for someone who will fit into our positive team environment. As a Senior EHO you will be able to lead from the front, with a wealth of experience in undertaking complex investigations. You will be keen to share and advance your own skills and knowledge to help our drive to continuously develop the service.
To apply for this role, you must have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health, hold a Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (or equivalent) and have a full driving licence.
If this opportunity sounds like the role for you we’d love to hear from you. If you would like a confidential discussion about the role, please contact Michael Bateman on 01444 477295.
