G6: £30,217 to £31,924 per annum - (pro rata for part time) 
G7: £34,310 to £36,410 per annum- (pro rata for part time)

The role


The Council’s Private Sector Safety Team is looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join us who is self-motivated, innovative, adaptable and flexible in their approach and who is keen to develop their skillsets. The role is demanding and will require you to take personal responsibility for a wide and varied caseload and perform with a high level of professionalism. Working closely with other services within the Council and external partners you will help deliver an effective joined up Regulatory Service by dealing with private rented sector enforcement issues and carrying out investigations.

Our Regulatory Services has a strong record of proactive enforcement and using their full range of skills in an effective and innovative way to secure improvements for residents in privately rented properties throughout the City. The main duties for this post includes the ability to effectively carry out property inspections of residential properties and unlawful dwellings in accordance with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System, (HHSRS) and to take appropriate action in each case to bring about a satisfactory conclusion.

This role is a career graded opening with integrated training and development opportunities.
