The Borough of Great Yarmouth is uniquely located in the Broads National Park and boasts 15 miles of sandy beaches, a thriving port serving the oil and gas industries and a diverse multi-cultural population.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is a forward thinking and dynamic Council and we are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Officer for the Commercial Team. The Commercial Team is responsible for food safety, health & safety, port health and animal licensing across the Borough.

You will be required to provide technical advice and guidance to the team, local businesses and Councillors on a range of subjects but mainly those relating to health and safety.
We are looking for candidates who have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health and are EHRB registered; however, we will consider applications from those who have a relevant health and safety qualification. A solid knowledge of safety legislation is essential.
The Environmental Services team work on occasion, outside normal office hours and you would be expected to partake as required. You would be expected also to participate in the stand by rota which attracts an additional payment.
If this is an opportunity which interests you and you feel that you could make a positive impact on the Borough, we would really like to hear from you. For an informal discussion regarding this vacancy please contact Grizelle Britton, Commercial Team Manager on 01493 846413.
