Environmental Health Officer - (note – a Discretionary Market Supplement of £5,000 is additional, annually reviewed and paid monthly)
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Selective Licensing and Private Housing Standards team for 1.5 (one and one half FTE) highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Health Officers to be involved in a wide range of licensing, housing standards, public health and enforcement functions.
The Council is determined to improve standards in the private rented sector and has designated the full Borough a Selective Licensing area, has adopted the financial penalties and has an active Landlord Forum. The successful candidate will be required to carry out many duties that look to secure property improvement; including licensing inspections and enforcement, housing standards, complaint work, area based property inspections, non-compliance enforcement (prosecution and financial penalty). The team works closely with the wider Council to a positive effect.
You must be a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer with EHRB registration. You should be able to manage a diverse case load and have good time management and organisational skills, you must be able to work as part of a team and possess excellent communication skills.
You will hold a full driving licence and be able to provide you own car. You will be required to work some evenings, weekends and on a flexible basis.
