My client is a Local Authority in Surrey is currently looking for a Food Safety Officer to be part of the food and safety team, you will cover a wide range of food hygiene, health and safety, infectious disease and skin piercing licencing. Experience of these will be essential.

Hourly Contract, 3 months, inside IR35

 

Main Purpose of the role

 

To carry out the duties to the highest professional standards ensuring statutory and legal obligations are delivered and communicated in a customer focused manner optimizing available resources in the Service’s areas of work. This includes special projects of work relating to the Team, with the overall aim of protecting public health and promoting business prosperity through positive and effective regulation. Main duties include:

·        Programmed routine and reactive food hygiene inspections.

·        Complaint investigations across Food and Health and Safety. 

·        Appropriate enforcement in line with our enforcement policy and principles

·        Business support and coaching including the delivery of training

·        Investigations of infectious diseases

·        Licensing of skin piercing activities, to control infection

·        To deputize for the SEHO in their absence.

 

Inspecting officers must hold one of the baseline qualifications, and have associated registration. The base line qualifications are Higher Certificate in Food Control or certificate of registration or Diploma issued by Environmental Health Registration Board.

 

The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and have at least 10 hours of Food Core CPD as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.

 

A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences.
