About the role…
Cheltenham Borough Council are looking for an EHORB registered Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety) to protect public health through the delivery of food safety and communicable disease controls and investigations, whilst supporting food business growth in the local economy.
If you are a qualified Environmental Health Officer with a food safety specialism, this could be the job for you!
Please note we will also accept applications from newly or nearly qualified individuals although preference will be give to those candidates who meet the essential criteria in the job description.
To be successful you will need…
- Environmental Health degree or equivalent qualification
- EHORB registration
- Maintenance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with Chartered Institute of Environmental Health CPD Regulations
- Recent experience of food inspections, utilising the range of official controls along with competency in a variety of enforcement sanctions.
- Experience of ‘duty officer’ type work – complaint investigations, infectious diseases, new business support, provision of advice through planning, licensing and event consultations.
- Ability to gain successful business and public health outcomes through a variety of methods.
