Our client in North London is seeking an Investigation and Enforcement Officer to join its team.

 

1.           Job Role:

 

Based in the Council’s Community Safety Team, this post will support the Community Safety Partnership to respond to all forms of anti-social behaviour including environmental crime, unauthorised encampments, graffiti, flyposting, fly tipping.

 

2.           Purpose of Job:

 

2.1       Ensuring cases referred to the Community Safety Team are investigated and assessed using established problem-solving techniques, securing interventions from teams across the council and the partnership to achieve positive resolution of the case.

 

2.2       Developing multi-agency action plans with a focus on the victim, offender and the location. Engaging with the local community and victims affected. Contributing towards the partnership objectives to reduce the perception of crime and ASB, increase community confidence in the council and the police, keeping residents informed and taking enforcement action using a broad range of enforcement tools and powers where necessary.

 

2.3       The post will also act as a point of contact for officers across the council and community safety partnership, providing expert advice on problem solving complex crime and ASB cases.

 

 

 

 

 

Experience and qualifications

 

•           Up to date knowledge of enforcement legislation applicable to the Council’s Community Safety function(s) including the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005, Environmental Protection Act 1990, and Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing act 2014 Act.

 

 

 

  1. Experience of working in a local government environment, and of enforcement of the issues specified above or similar Anti-Social Behaviour/ Environmental crime related issues. Experience of taking a range of enforcement options including prosecutions, issuing Fixed Penalty Notices, Criminal Behaviour Orders or Injunctions, issue of notices and warnings.
