Environmental Health Officer / Health & Safety Officer
Our client based in North London is recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer / Health and Safety Officer for a minimum of 3 months to start immediately.
- Carrying out risk-assessed inspections of relevant workplaces Investigate accidents under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) Carry out fire, gas, asbestos, water hygiene and lift Notifications Carrying out campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness of Health and Safety issues Provision of advice and guidance to businesses on Health and Safety issues Registration of cooling towers and evaporative condensers Undertake proactive and reactive interventions and investigations for health safety activities To respond and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary to protect and improve public health. Assist as directed by Management in the investigation of reports of communicable or notifiable diseases received by the team and provide an appropriate response to minimise the spread of infection within the community and prevent its reoccurrence. Prepare evidence for legal proceedings for non-compliance with relevant legislation, to instigate legal proceedings where appropriate and present that evidence in court.
- Environmental Health Degree/Masters with extensive relevant experience. Proven experience of undertaking Health and Safety related work in enforcement or similar role. Sound knowledge of environmental health-related legislation relevant to the area of work of the role and an understanding of legal processes associated with enforcement functions and service of statutory notices.
