Various Technical Officer and Senior Technical Officer opportunities available

The District of East Hertfordshire has a population of approximately 144,000 and covers about 480 square miles on the eastern side of Hertfordshire.  The main centres of population are Hertford, Ware, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth and Buntingford. Between these main centres much of the area is open countryside, with rural communities of various sizes.

The Environmental Health team form one of four teams under the Head of Housing and Health.  We are a mixture of Environmental Health Practitioners and technical specialists who deliver services across a range of functions including food safety, occupational health and safety, housing standards, infectious disease control, private water supplies, certain licensing functions, land drainage, contaminated land and air quality.

Following a review of the service we are looking to fill five new posts:

  • HH014 - Senior Technical Officer (Commercial)
    Full time, 37 hours per week
    £33,487 to £36,543 (including £609 local weighting)
  • HH016 - Senior Technical Officer (Environment)
    Full time, 37 hours per week
    £33,487 to £36,543 (including £609 local weighting)
  • HH015 - Senior Technical Officer (Residential)
    Full time, 37 hours per week
    £33,487 to £36,543 (including £609 local weighting)
  • HH018 - Technical Officer (Health & Safety)
    Part time, 15 hours per week
    £30,245 to £33,487 pro-rata (including £609 local weighting)
  • RS025 - Technical Officer (Commercial)
    Part time, 15 hours per week
    £30,245 to £33,487 pro-rata (including £609 local weighting)
