Senior Housing Technician

Salary £28,785 per annum (with the potential to earn up to £33,799)

You will join a small Private Sector Housing team within Environmental Health, working to improve the living conditions and health of people living in the borough. As a key member of the team you will be dealing with a broad and interesting caseload, relating to private sector housing enforcement.

You will act as the lead officer on all aspects of private sector housing enforcement, supporting other team members. Your main responsibility will be the investigation of complaints relating to private sector housing under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and inspection of licensable houses in multiple occupation.  You will also be required to lead on other initiatives and strategies including empty homes and warm homes schemes.

You will need to have a proven ability to work on your own initiative, be competent to deal with complex case work, and have good communication and judgement skills.  A pro-active approach and a high commitment to customer care will also be required.
