‘Happy to talk flexible working’

Senior Environmental Health Officer - Commercial

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our ambitious and progressive Shared Environmental Health Partnership at Mole Valley and Tandridge District Councils and be a valued member of a friendly and professional team.

The role in the Commercial Team offers a wide range of challenges, and opportunities to make a difference and contribute to the success of our shared service, whilst developing your own knowledge and management experience.

The successful candidate will enjoy a range of duties, focusing on the inspection of food businesses in all risk categories, including a number of approved establishments, the participation in sampling programmes, as well as the inspection of workplaces and the completion of nationally and locally agreed targeted health and safety projects. In addition there will be the opportunity to contribute to the risk assessment and monitoring of private water supplies, to participate in the delivery of accredited training courses and the investigation of infectious disease cases, together with playing a key role in supporting the service’s primary authority partnership agreements with several high profile businesses.

Achieving all this will require flexibility, enthusiasm, good organisation skills and an interest in and knowledge of the topics involved. The role will involve working closely with colleagues, business proprietors and elected members and so will require excellent customer service and communication skills.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced officer who holds a BSc or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health and EHRB registration, with proven experience of promoting compliance through both a supportive as well as a staged approach to enforcement and will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of current legislation.

You will manage your own food safety and health and safety at work caseload and have the opportunity to practice your management skills in assisting the commercial team leader in supporting team members to achieve their respective workloads, individual and professional development goals, as well as the team’s overall objectives.

For You

We will support and encourage you through our annual Performance and Development Review to identify training and career development opportunities. Helping you to reach your career goals and full potential.

We Offer
